The Official Slime Dictionary

Everything you need to know to talk like a Slime Pro!

— The Play Terms (ASMR) —

  • Bubble Pops: The loud, "snapping" sounds made when air trapped inside the slime is squeezed out. Thick & Glossy slimes are the kings of bubble pops!

  • Drizzle: Specifically used for Cloud Slime. It’s the way the slime looks like a falling waterfall or "snow" when you stretch it and let it hang.

  • Inflation: This happens when you play with certain slimes (like Butter or Slay slimes). As you fold in air, the slime expands and grows in size—it might even get too big for its original container!

  • Sizzles: The soft, crackling sound made by "airy" slimes like Snowfizz or Cloud Creams when you squish them. It sounds like soda fizzing.

  • Poking: Pressing your fingers into the slime to create deep "thwips" and indents.

  • Cracker Spills: The sound made specifically by Bingsu or Crunch Bomb slimes. It sounds like crushing a bag of crackers or walking on dry leaves.

— The Texture Terms —

  • Add-ins: Anything extra mixed into the slime, like charms, glitter, sprinkles (fimo slices), or beads.

  • Fallout: When the beads or charms in a crunchy slime fall out because the base isn't "grippy" enough or the slime has dried out.

  • Tacky: A term used for slime that isn't exactly "liquid," but sticks to your skin slightly. This is common with clear-based slimes.

  • Residue: Small bits of slime or "wetness" left on your hands after playing. Cloud slimes sometimes leave a "snow" residue, which is normal!

  • Holdable: A slime that is firm enough to be picked up and handled without it running through your fingers or sticking to everything.

— The Technical Terms (Care) —

  • Activator: A mixture of Borax and water. It is the "medicine" for slime. Adding a little bit makes the slime firmer and less sticky.

  • Deactivated / Melted: Slime that has turned back into a liquid-like state, usually due to heat or sitting for a long time without being played with.

  • Over-activated: When too much activator is added, making the slime hard, rubbery, or prone to snapping instead of stretching.

  • Base: The main "body" of the slime before any scents, colors, or charms are added. Common bases are "White Glue" or "Clear Glue."
